Dr. Jithu U. Krishnan holds a decade-long experience in insect ecology, insect ethology, toxicology, and pest management. His Ph.D. work secured distinct recognition in the WCRT Consortium held in China, 2019. He was selected as the only KSCSTE-Post Doctoral fellow in life science for the year 2017-18. He was instrumental in the generation of an Institutional and filed patent. He is a member and peer of the Root Crops society, Indian Society for evolutionary biologists, Citizen Science Association, USA., WWF.

Focused areas: Research interests range broadly in Entomology, Insect Ethology, Chemical ecology, Social behaviour, Evolution of sociality, Trophic interactions, Taxonomy of Coleoptera and Hymenoptera, Toxicology, and Compound characterization studies.

Total number of publications: Research and academic communications include 17 International and national articles, conference proceedings, and a book.

  • Handled many UG and PG Research projects with Taxonomy-Teaching assistantship in IISc.
  • Worked as KSCSTE Post-Doctoral fellow at IISc. in the year 2018.
  • Handled KSCSTE, RKVY and ICAR institute projects during Ph.D.

Other information:

  • Instrumental in the generation of an Institutional patent (patent no: 368943, date of award: June 2021), along with a filed patent (pfr. no. 208/che/2012).
  • Actively participating in many outreach programs of both government and non-government organizations including many societies that work for the benefit of science education.
